First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at rideOS.
Software Engineer Intern
I first had a chat with the recruiter, who was super nice. Then, I was given a take-home coding challenge that was pretty fun, like a LeetCode problem. After that, I met with an engineer from the team to discuss the take-home problem and do some more live coding. Finally, I had a meeting with a technical hiring manager.
- Could you solve a problem involving graph algorithms such as BFS or DFS?
Product Design Lead
I got an initial email from the CEO, Justin Ho. Then, there was a 30-minute call with the CTO, followed by an on-site interview with 5 team members. After that, I had a follow-up coffee chat with the CTO. The interview panel was varied and covered different design aspects. Everyone on the panel shared great perspectives on the company and its mission, and gave insights into the team and culture. It was a very personable experience with great questions and conversation.
- Can you describe a native mobile design project you worked on, detailing your specific role and contributions?
- Tell me about a time you encountered and resolved a conflict with engineers.
Recruiting Lead
The interview process was super organized and detailed for the team size. It started with a quick call with the CEO, followed by a one-on-one with the CEO at the office. Then, an onsite interview with five team members, which included a case presentation. The final stage was a panel presentation in front of three team members. Everyone on the team was friendly but also asked tough questions and seemed to have a clear vision for the role and the team.
- Can you explain the workings of AV routing?
Software Engineer
The interview process was pretty fast. Started with a recruiter call, then I could pick between a technical phone screen or a take-home coding test. I did the phone screen which was cool since I was working. After that, I had an onsite with three technical interviews and two behavioral interviews with the CEO and CTO. Everyone was really nice and made it a good experience. Got an offer the next day.
- Tell me about two general algorithmic questions.
- Can you describe one system design question you were asked?
- How would you approach this specific algorithmic problem?
