Territory Sales Manager
The hiring process for Territory Sales Manager involves an initial application and web video, followed by a phone interview. Then, candidates participate in a half-day in-person shadowing experience. After that, a panel interview is conducted. Finally, an offer is extended, contingent upon passing a drug and background screening.
- What's your approach to managing conflict?
- Can you share an instance where you navigated a challenging situation?
Sales Manager
I applied online then got an email for a phone interview. It was pretty simple. Since it's a recruiting company, they just asked me things about my resume and why R J Reynolds. Then, I had to do a video interview where I answered questions they provided. After passing that, I spent a day shadowing a Territory Manager (TM) in their area. I really liked my TM and his division manager. I was myself and asked a lot of questions about their day-to-day to show my interest. Don't ask about salary! Your TM and Division Manager (DM) on that day are evaluating you for the hiring board, so making a great impression is important. After that, there was a panel interview, which was a bit intense, but if you're comfortable and confident in your skills, you'll do great! I really enjoyed talking with the interviewers on one panel, but the second panel made me feel like I might not get the job. You find out pretty quickly if you get the job, usually within about 24 hours.
- Can you share an instance where you had to adjust your schedule and reorganize your time for work?
- What is your motivation for wanting to work for R J Reynolds?
Sales Manager
First there was a phone interview with a third-party company that felt like they were reading from a script and didn't know the company. It was pretty basic with about 5 questions and only took 15 minutes. I don't think this interview method is looked upon well by other employers. After applying, you get emails about moving forward, and if you do, you'll go through an online interview then a panel interview.
- What is your understanding of our company?
- Can you describe a mistake you made and how you resolved it?
- What are your thoughts on the amount of time spent driving for work?
