First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RevolutionParts.
Customer Success Manager
They put me through 5 rounds of interviews, then made me an offer, which they then immediately took back because the CEO decided they only wanted to hire people with a bachelor's degree. It would have been great if the recruiter or someone else could have saved time by filtering me out earlier on. Apparently, the CEO thought that having a couple more years studying poetry would have made me a better fit for their tech job.
- I had one-on-one interviews with each person from the teams I would be working with.
Engineering Lead
It started with an HR screen, then an aptitude and personality test. After that, there were about six interview rounds. Communication from the company is really bad; expect to wait weeks for a response unless you keep chasing HR. When they reject you, they ghost you, no matter how far you got. They seemed unsure about what they wanted in the role, and some positions had been open for over three months. For the coding part, be ready for a Leetcode challenge where you'll need to solve multiple problems within a time limit, passing all test cases. Honestly, this company isn't special, just another startup acting like FAANG, but their interview and communication processes need a lot of improvement. My advice: don't apply.
- Could you share an example of your most significant professional failure and discuss its repercussions for your company?
VP Marketing
The interviewer wanted to reschedule the meeting by 3 hours on short notice, and then was 10 minutes late. When I asked if she needed to reschedule, she said she was stuck in a meeting. She joined 20 minutes late and said she spilled coffee on herself before the interview started. The interview lasted about an hour. Despite the company claiming to be 'blunt and honest', when I asked if she planned to move me forward, she didn't give a straight answer. I offered references and proof of my track record, but she said I hadn't 'put it all together', without explaining what 'it' was. Maybe I messed up by accidentally showing a Glassdoor tab during the 'how to improve the website' question. It was a bad experience, and the company's claim of honesty is questionable.
- How would you improve our website?
- What is your leadership style?
- Our marketing isn't performing well; what steps would you take to improve it?
Vice President of Customer Success
The interview process was thorough and in-depth. They kept in contact with me the entire time and was extremely smooth. Choosing people carefully is important in a start-up and they are definitely committed to that philosophy. The interview started with a phone screen with the CEO. I was asked high level questions around customer strategy and leadership philosophy. I was then brought in to meet the WHOLE team. I thought this was extremely important and smart to interview with the people that you will be leading to ensure a good fit. I then submitted a 30/60/90 day plan and was brought back for a final interview with the CEO and CTO (Founders). I enjoyed the process as it wasn't too quick or too lengthy. Allowed me to get to know them and them to get to know me to ensure a right fit.
