Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Revature.
Trainee Engineer
We started with a written test, then a technical interview focusing on Java, Spring, and general programming. After that, there was an HR discussion which included manager questions about handling critical situations, criticism, feedback, and also asked about my recent trip.
- Can you answer some core Java questions?
- Do you have knowledge about Spring?
- Are you prepared for programming questions?
Engineer
The interview was quick. The first part was multiple choice questions and 4 questions about OOP. The second interview involved writing pseudocode, which was quick and easy. If you have no tech knowledge, the pseudocode part might be tricky.
- What are the definitions of OOP concepts?
- Can you answer multiple choice questions on HTML?
- Can you answer multiple choice questions on data?
Trainee Engineer
The interview process at Revature is pretty easy and straightforward. First, you submit an online application, then you usually have an initial phone screening or HR interview. After that, you might do an online aptitude test or a coding assessment for basic programming and problem-solving. Then, there could be a technical interview to check your basic coding knowledge, especially for entry-level roles. The whole point is to find people with potential since Revature trains you after hiring. They communicate well, and it's usually a quick process.
- Can you tell me about your strengths?
- What would you consider your greatest weakness?
- Could you describe the projects you've been involved in?
