First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Retensa.
Talent Management Intern
They had a technical part that looked at Excel skills and typing speed. The hiring manager did a behavioral interview, which didn't go so great. They kept asking the same thing over and over.
- What is your motivation for joining this company?
- What skills are you hoping to further develop?
Employee Experience Associate
There are three rounds: a phone interview, one tech/role specialized round, and one HR round. Round 1 and 2 are usually together, which is an hour and a half long. They don't tell you about being two rounds; if they don't like you, the interview ends before going to HR.
- Could you tell me why you applied for this specific role?
- What are your reasons for applying to Retensa?
Organizational Development Intern
I started with a phone interview that went over the job details and included some behavioral and situational questions. After that, I had an in-person interview where I had to fill out repetitive information I had already provided. This was followed by two one-on-one virtual interviews where the questions were pretty much the same as the phone interview. Some of the questions felt a bit off for the role, like 'What makes you laugh?' and 'What makes you happy?'. They really dug deep with questions; for example, I was asked about a weakness three times. There was also a skills test where I had to look at and fix a company supervisor review survey. The interviewers were nice but seemed a bit distant.
- Tell me about a time you came up with an idea and saw it through to the end. What happened?
- What is something that makes you laugh?
- What makes you happy?
Human Resources Intern
I met the recruiter at a career fair, and after sending in my resume, I got a call about two weeks later for an interview. Once I got there, I had to fill out some initial paperwork with my address, ID, and past employers. Then, I was given a practice test. The scenario involved a document for training initiatives with about 12 tasks. I had to go through it, fix any grammar mistakes, and suggest business approach changes, basically to see how detail-oriented I was. After that, I had an interview with my potential boss, who asked general questions and about my interest in Organizational Development. Then, a Senior Associate asked me similar questions. They said I'd hear back in 1-2 weeks either way. After 2.5 weeks of no contact, I emailed them and was told they had already hired someone else.
- What unique skills do you possess that would benefit our team?
- Are you proficient in SPSS software?
- Are you capable of creating Pivot Tables using MS Excel?
