The hiring process started out very well and moved quickly. I made it to the final rounds but was ghosted afterwards, which was disappointing. Even if the team decided not to move forward, it would have been courteous to get an update. Interviewing takes time and preparation, and that's the least a recruiter could provide.

I started with a recruiter phone screen, and they set up an interview for the following week. I was told there would be an initial pair of interviews, possibly followed by another pair. The first round was with the team manager and a senior engineer, and it went well. After waiting a week, I was invited to a second round of interviews. This round had two interviews: one with an engineer and another with a 'bar-raiser' from a business team. A week after the second round, I was asked if I would do an additional bar-raiser interview, which I agreed to. I followed up for over 4 weeks and was told to wait. Eventually, the recruiter told me the position was cancelled due to a shift in priorities following RetailMeNot's acquisition. The recruiter was professional and set me up with another team. The first interview for this new position was with a manager who was unprepared and couldn't answer clarifying questions about impromptu problems. The manager seemed distracted and unprofessional. The second interview was with an engineer who was also unprepared but eventually used questions from a bank. I didn't get an offer for this second role.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I really enjoyed my interview experience with RMN! It started with a couple of phone calls, first with a recruiter and then with the HR Manager I'd be working under. After that, I was invited to their Phoenix office for a half-day of interviews. It was a really engaging process from start to finish. I met with all the main people in the Phoenix office. They seemed genuinely interested in checking out my skills, which are definitely strong, but I think they also saw that I could fit in and understand the RMN culture, which is probably why I got the job.

Behavioral Case Presentation

This was the most transparent and best interview process I've had so far. It seemed daunting at first with an HR screening, hiring manager phone interview, a case study, and a half-day interview with 9 team members. In hindsight, it was a thorough process to ensure I could do the job and fit the company and team. The HR recruiter was prompt in updating me on next steps and setting up interviews. She also confirmed my compensation package. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I appreciated getting feedback on my assessment.
