I found the job through a recruiter at Restaurant Brands International in Toronto, and the whole thing took about 3 to 4 weeks. The interviews were pretty thorough but not crazy difficult. The hiring manager interview was more about talking through my thought process on a problem. I also got to chat with some senior folks from the team and other departments, which was really cool. Everyone was super collaborative during the interviews.

The interview process included a tech screening, a take-home assignment, a peer interview, a hiring manager interview, and a full-day interview with HR, the hiring manager, ICs, and the director. Despite acing all interviews and receiving excellent feedback on the take-home, which was described as the best they'd seen, and even being told to expect an offer by the director, I didn't receive an offer two weeks later. The recruiter provided no reason, and seemed upset about the decision, considering dropping them as a client. While the overall experience was negative due to the outcome, most of the people and the interview process itself were fine, so I wouldn't give a negative rating to those aspects.

It was a four step process, and I only made it through the first two steps. The first step was a basic interview focused on my experiences and some light technical questions about things like HTTP vs HTTPS and React. The second step was a coding assessment that, in theory, is a great idea because it involves programming with technologies you'd likely use on the job. However, the assessment itself was poorly written and constructed.
