Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Research Partnership.
Research Analyst
First, we talked about myself and my background. Then they asked about my interest in pharmaceuticals. After that, they gave me a scenario where a client had a product and wanted to know their target audience, and I had to explain how I would find that out through research.
- Suppose a client is launching a new plant-based food product and you have limited resources (money and time). How would you identify the target audience for this product?
Research Analyst
The interview process kicked off with an initial online meeting featuring typical fit questions. This was followed by a somewhat unusual case study focused on developing a strategy to identify the target audience for a plant-based food product. Additionally, there was a straightforward online assessment testing data comprehension and proper market research design. The process culminated in a full-day assessment that included a group activity where we had to design a market research plan. We also had to deliver a 5-minute case presentation, which was identical for all candidates and presented under strict time limits to about eight other candidates, followed by a panel interview. While not exceedingly difficult, it was a very lengthy assessment day and overall job interview experience.
- Could you explain your interest in Veeva and the field of market research?
- Are you capable of performing tasks that are repetitive?
- What are the typical daily activities for an analyst?
Research Analyst
First, I had to submit my CV and answer some application questions. Then came a pre-recorded interview, followed by a work sample, which I really liked because it let me show the skills I'd use on the job. After that, there was a presentation and an interview with executives. The company took 3 weeks to get back to me after the interview and didn't give any feedback, even when I asked. I thought this was a shame, especially since they talked about improving communication. It's tough when you're going through a stressful process and don't get feedback to help you learn.
- What attracts you to market research?
- In what ways do your friends describe you?
- What's the largest misconception people have about you?
