The interview was conducted via Teams. I was asked to identify potential engineering risks based on a provided site layout. They also asked a very specific question regarding changes to Eurocode, which I couldn't answer. My impression is that this question was designed to assess my response to not knowing an answer. There were no technical tests involved.

The process was pretty simple and efficient, letting me meet all the key people in 4 interviews. I got to talk with my direct manager, some business leaders, and even the CFO. They were all pretty open about what they expected and the problems they were running into, while also being real about what couldn't be done.

The interview process included an initial MS Teams screening with HR, conducted without video, which felt lengthy and lacked substantial content. This was followed by an MS Teams interview with the hiring manager, where some information conflicted with what HR had stated. There was a significant delay due to the HR person's vacation, though an automated email notified candidates. Ultimately, a generic automated rejection email was received about a week and a half later. While the experience was better than some, with decent communication, it felt impersonal and automated.

I had a two-stage interview over Teams, with two managers in each interview. The environment was relaxed and the managers from Guildford gave me candid information about the company. Technical questions were asked in the second interview to make sure I was suitable for a fast-paced and demanding job.
