First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Reputation.
Customer Success Manager
This was a long interview process. I felt like some interviews were redundant and the whole thing was dragged out because of scheduling issues with the hiring managers. But the recruiters at Reputation were amazing. They were super responsive and did their best to keep things moving. I really liked their energy, how they focused on the candidate, and their service-first attitude. The last interview involved a formal presentation, and the questions from the leadership team were tough. The senior management was great and gave helpful, constructive feedback on how I did in the interview.
- What's the single most crucial trait or skill for a successful CSM, if you had to pick just one?
Customer Success Manager
I applied online and then had a phone screen with a recruiter. I was interested in Reputation because I think company brand reputation is really important, especially now. The 30-minute call felt good, and I thought I was a good fit based on the job description and my experience. It took a week to hear back, so I asked about the next steps. The recruiter then sent a standard rejection message and suggested keeping my info for future roles. I thanked them but said I wasn't interested anymore. It felt weird that they made that decision so quickly after I asked, and I probably wouldn't have heard back if I hadn't followed up. For a company focused on reputation, they kind of missed the mark here.
- Can you tell me about your experience managing customer relationships?
- What are your salary expectations?
Customer Success Manager
The application process seemed fine, but the part after applying was a bummer. First, there was a 30-minute chat with the hiring manager. Then, an onsite assessment involved a presentation to show how I'd upsell and get an unhappy client to renew. The presentation topic felt right for my business knowledge, and my reputation helped. The questions during the presentation were smart and on time. They challenged me well but kept it relevant. The third round was onsite, meeting the hiring manager, my potential direct reports, and a peer. I was let down by how things went after the interviews. They said I'd hear back by the end of that week or early the next. A week later, I followed up and was told they needed more time, until the end of that week. Two weeks after the interview, still no word from them. I followed up again and got a quick reply saying they needed another week. A month after the interview, no update. So, I emailed the hiring manager to pull my application. I get that things happen and clients come first, but interview candidates are clients too and deserve updates with a realistic timeline at least.
- When playing the role of the client, the interviewer asked if I would offer a discount for them to resign, which was tricky since I didn't know the discount policy.
