I really enjoyed my interview experience with this company! It was great to connect with the team and learn a bit about their students. What impressed me most was how unified the organization felt, from the top all the way down, which I really liked.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process had several lengthy steps, which is pretty standard. While the organization can be great, I'm a bit concerned because Jackson seems like the overlooked part of RePublic. The CEO has a massive ego; he's a fast talker who doesn't really listen and starts every sentence by repeating your canned charter, saying things like 'So, it sounds like you're saying...'. The current setup doesn't seem geared for success. They need to understand that expansion brings complications. It's better to get things right locally before expanding to a different town, rather than jumping three states away.

Behavioral Presentation

First, there was a phone chat with the person who handles diversity and hiring. They asked if I was really into teaching kids of color. Then, I had a face-to-face meeting. I had to do a practice lesson, and the supervisor gave me pointers, so I redid it. After that, we role-played a bunch of different ways a teacher might talk to parents. Finally, the principal I'd report to offered me the job. The official letter came by email a few days later.

It was a set of phone interviews and pre-work tasks that started in February and finished at the end of March. Every interview had pre-work activities that needed to be submitted before each interview part.
