First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Republic Finance LLC.
Assistant Manager
I first chatted with a recruiter at a career fair, then submitted an online application. After that, I had a phone interview, followed by an in-person interview with the Regional Vice President. They gave me a math and language test. Then, I shadowed the branch manager as part of the training aspect of the assistant manager role, which is geared towards becoming a branch manager. A drug test and background check were also part of the process. Finally, I had one more interview where they offered me the job.
- What were your future career goals?
Assistant Manager
I applied for the job and got a call back a few hours later asking if I was still interested. I also got an email about the call. I called them back and was invited for an interview. I arrived a bit early, but was left in a room while the interviewer was busy. He eventually came in after my scheduled interview time and asked me about my background and my reasons for pursuing a career in finance. I felt like I was only interviewed to fulfill a diversity quota, as I didn't get clear answers to my job-related questions. I was told I'd hear back within three weeks about the next steps, which would involve interviews with a regional VP and the initial interviewer. The next morning, I received an email stating I was not selected for the offer. This company seems unprofessional and possibly discriminatory, and I would be hesitant to work there or do business with them.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
- Could you share where you grew up?
- What motivated your decision to enter the finance field?
Assistant Manager
I would advise against interviewing with this company as it's a waste of time. The hiring process dragged on for over a month. To make matters worse, after I got a job offer, they rescinded it, claiming the position wasn't being filled and citing a miscommunication. I suspect this is a common practice, possibly used as a training exercise for new branch managers. The assessment they administered is identical to the one given to NFL quarterbacks. I also suspect I was misled about my score on that test, as it was exceptionally high.
- What would your previous manager say were your 2 biggest faults?
