First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rent-A-Center.
Sales Manager
The interview process felt long but gave me a lot of info. However, a lot of what they promised during the interview didn't end up happening. It's important to ask as many questions as possible because they don't seem to share all the info upfront.
- Would I be alright with dealing with roaches and bedbugs?
Sales Manager
So first you apply online, then there's an assessment you gotta do, takes like 30 min. Gotta submit your background check stuff ASAP and do a drug test. Then, a DM or Sales Manager will call you back for the first interview, happens in the office. It's open-ended questions, pretty conversational, and lasts about 10-30 min. After that, you do a second interview, same thing as the first, but with a different sales manager. Then the final interview, again, same process, but you'll meet with the District Manager. Could also be an in-office observation for a whole weekday, takes up to 5 hours. Just a heads up, the background check needs to be cleared before Phase 6, which is when the DM offers you the job.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
Sales Manager
It was very brief, more like sitting down talking with a friend. I was interviewed by a store manager, then the District manager. After the interview, we just sat and talked about our families and about how the job involves working long hours. My overall experience was great; I went in very nervous but later relaxed and was myself, and I got the job the next day.
- Where do you see yourself in five years?
- What motivated your interest in sales?
