Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rent-A-Center.
Manager
I applied online and heard back really fast. They called me in for an interview with the store manager. It was short but good, and I felt hopeful. Then they set up a second interview with the District Manager right away. This one was longer and more detailed. I left feeling even more excited. The DM said he had a meeting the next day but would call me Thursday. Both the DM and store manager gave me their cards and said to call them. I haven't heard anything back though, and I've even gone back to the store and called the DM a few times.

- Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
Assistant Manager
It was excellent, with a process of three interviews. First, a phone interview. Second, another interview over the phone and internet. Third, a person-to-person meeting with a recruiter, after a background check and drug test were done.
- How you will performance the job?
- Why you think I'am good for the job?
- Why I should get hire and not other candidate?
Manager
I was interviewed for a store manager position. It was an internal position, so the interview process was pretty simple. I was asked a few questions about what I could contribute to the store that others couldn't, how I'd feel if I didn't get the promotion, and if I'd have issues with the commute.
- What attributes do you possess that make you a superior candidate compared to others?
- How would you handle the disappointment and your response if you were not selected for the promotion?
- Are there any concerns you might have regarding the commute to the store?
