First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RENFROE.
Independent Claims Adjuster
It took about a week from applying to getting the offer. They called me a week after I applied to do some paperwork, and then the same week they offered me the job. It was super simple, easy, and fast. They asked me about my background and if I could do the physical requirements of the job.
- Do you have previous experience as an adjuster?
- Can you commit to working 10-12 hours a day, 6-7 days a week?
Recruiting Manager
The hiring manager asked how I met each job requirement in the first interview. The second interview with the owners was behavioral, asking questions like "Tell me about a time that you..." without a set list. They wanted to fill the role quickly, but never updated me or my agency on my rejection, so we assumed it after not hearing back by the middle of the next month. It would have been nice to have been updated, given that I came in twice.
- Describe a situation where you had to recruit individuals but could not promise them their desired working hours.
Manager
So the company has 40+ office-based, salaried employees, not counting the 10,000+ claims reps/adjusters, so it's a pretty small team. You might expect them to get back to you with feedback since it's a small team, but I was ghosted right before the final steps. It's unprofessional to ghost someone, especially when you talk about your family-feeling community and culture. I had some red flags about the CEO, who took over from his parents and doesn't have much other experience, and I was worried about his personality and working habits based on what the hiring team said. I'm not that upset though. They also didn't have a salary band, which initially seemed good because they wanted the person to be happy, but I think it was a tactic to pick the cheapest candidate. It's frustrating they weren't transparent about their budget. To their credit, they were super communicative and friendly before the ghosting, so it's a shame they handled it this way at the end.
- Can you tell me about your experience executing this type of work?
Claims Adjuster
Got referred by a current employee. Got an invite to take a class and get certified in Xactimate and insurance policy. After getting certified, I got a chance to deploy for a temp assignment. The hiring process takes a while. They do background checks, and you need the proper state licensing before they can hire you. Classroom work and certifications are also required before they'll offer you the job. It's a professional career with many steps before you get an assignment. The whole thing takes some time.
- What are the technical and policy requirements, which are not easy?
- Answer questions and perform functions that would resemble real life adjusting challenges.
