So I talked to the hiring manager, then a senior engineer on the team, and then a few directors I'd be working with. They really wanted to see how deep I could go technically and if my past experience was a good fit.

The interview process started with a phone screen by the hiring manager. Then there was a technical interview on Zoom/Teams with the hiring team. If you passed that, the next step was an in-person interview. It was a pretty bad experience because the recruiter ghosted me after the first call and didn't email me. There were 7 people who applied. Sometimes hiring managers are really picky. My resume was a good match for the job description and I talked with the recruiter well on the phone. My advice is that hiring managers should give people a chance and not just look for someone with internship experience that's perfect.
