The interview was near Port Authority on the 5th floor. There were about 8-15 people waiting when I arrived. They called me in first. I met with a woman who asked basic questions about my background and why I was interested in sales. She spoke quickly and I didn't really get a clear understanding of what they sell. I understood it was face-to-face sales. I thought it was a base salary position, but she clarified it's commission-only. The people seemed okay, but I had a weird feeling about the place. They wanted me to come back for a second interview to shadow for a day. I read online that this is a scam where they get free labor, but I don't know if it's true. I decided not to go because I want a base salary. I think reputable companies offer base pay, and commission-only isn't appealing in New York with student loans.

The whole thing takes about 2-3 days and has 3 rounds. First, you show up at their office and answer some general questions. They'll call later that day to let you know if you're moving on. Round 2 is a full day shadowing a sales rep in the field. At the end of the day, you go back and they evaluate your performance from the day. This determines if you move to round 3. Round 3 is the same day you shadow and it's the deciding factor for getting the job.

Had a quick first interview, then got called in for a second one. It was a full day job shadow thing, starting at 9. A staff member showed me what a typical day is like. The work environment felt competitive, but the people were nice. I learned a lot during the day and had to answer questions to show what I got.
