First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Renault Group.
Graduate Program
I had a call with HR for an initial contact/phone interview, then I received an invitation for a recruitment day. During the day, there were about ten other candidates, and the recruitment lasted all day: - Company and position presentation - Group interview: 4 subgroups were formed. In a room with two of the groups, we were given a topic related to current automotive news and had to debate it. One group had to be for and the other against. 5 to 10 minutes of discussion then the debate began. After 10 minutes, they interrupted us and asked us to switch roles: the group that was for became against and vice-versa. It was very destabilizing. - Then a real-life simulation: we were in the shoes of a Renault salesperson and went to the client's. This was also very destabilizing. - Finally, individual interviews with 1 sales director and 1 HR representative.
- Imagine a sales situation at the client's.
Graduate Trainee
The interview process kicked off with an online application that included some basic motivational questions. Next, there was a phone interview, but it wasn't with the company's HR; they used an external company for graduate recruitment. This call was quite challenging, featuring some tougher, more specific competency-based questions. Following that, candidates had to complete numerical and verbal tests, which were standard SHL tests. The final stage was an assessment day, running from 9 am to 5 pm, which was both difficult and tiring. This day involved a one-on-one interview, a group exercise, a behavioral test on the computer, a case study (with 30 minutes for preparation and a 30-minute role-play negotiating sales targets), and a presentation that needed to be prepared beforehand using provided materials. Renault really looks for their core values in candidates, so being actively involved in societies, volunteering, or other activities definitely improves your chances.
- Why are you interested in Renault?
- What motivates you to pursue a career in the automotive industry?
- What information do you have about Renault?
Graduate Student
Had an afternoon interview with an initial welcome, a presentation of the group and the program, then a 1-hour interview with a manager and an HR manager. Basic interview, questions about my background and motivations.
- Imagine you are a manager in a factory, what would you do?
