First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Renault Group.
Intern
The first interview is a standard HR call, where they ask about your technical skills and why you're interested in the role, lasting about 20 minutes. The second interview is where they get to know you as a person, lasting 50 minutes, which was the longest I've had so far. They ask about everything, from your hobbies, favorite artists, and music to your experiences. For those just starting out: They don't mind revisiting points about things you failed at just 10 minutes ago, so don't lie if you're forgetful. They didn't directly ask why I left previous jobs, but they tried to steer the conversation towards it with questions like 'and why the change of area?'
- How would you act in that specific scenario?
- What's your take on dealing with [external entity relevant to the job, e.g., unions]?
- What specifically drew you to this job or field?
Intern
First, they asked me to create a slide presentation about my professional background. The second step was an interview with the managers. The whole process was quite smooth, but unfortunately, I didn't get the promised feedback, which disappointed me about the company. While no company is obligated to give feedback, any response would have been better than the silence and disappearance after they promised it. Even an automated email would have been better than the great expectation met with silence and the company vanishing.
- Why do you want to work at Renault
Stage de fin d'études
For a final studies internship at Renault Ampère, they first look at your application (CV and cover letter) to see if you have the technical skills like machine learning or modeling and if you fit the role. If you pass that, you'll have a technical and/or HR interview, often online. This interview will focus on your past experiences, main skills, and why you want the job. They might ask you about practical cases or specific technical questions related to electric mobility or new projects. Finally, they tell you their decision pretty quickly and if you get selected, you sign the agreement.
