Software Engineer
So, it was an on-campus drive. I made it through the first round where they asked me a LeetCode Hard vertical traversal coding question, and also some theory questions on Networking, DBMS, and Operating Systems. I kinda messed up the second round because I couldn't come up with the full code for the problem, and that's why I didn't get selected.
- Can you solve the Vertical Order Traversal of a Binary Tree problem?
- What about the 100 stair case problem? (I wasn't able to implement it)
Software Engineer
I had an initial HR call which was a general intro and went okay. Then I interviewed with a lead or manager. Despite my extensive experience in distributed and multi-threaded systems, I missed one question which meant I wasn't good enough for them. I'm very familiar with their work since I'm at a direct competitor, so it was a missed opportunity for them. After several weeks of no response, I followed up and was told I wasn't a good fit.
- How would you find an entry within a file located on disk?
Software Engineer
I had 2 phone screens, then a few onsite rounds where I talked with the hiring manager and senior engineers. These onsite rounds involved discussing my technical background, working through Java algorithm coding problems, implementing binary trees and collections, and talking about the architecture of a project.
- Tell me about your knowledge of distributed systems.
- Can you solve Java algorithm questions?
- Implement a binary tree and a collection.
