The hiring manager and interview panel were professional, but the recruitment experience was very poor. The recruiter lacked understanding of the role and shared misleading information based on the JD, which did not align with the hiring manager’s actual expectations. Face-to-face interviews appeared to be scheduled randomly just to close the role, wasting candidates’ time. Recruiters should work closely with hiring managers and communicate accurately with candidates. This was a disappointing experience with Reltio due to the recruitment process.

Technical Coding

The interview process was pretty straightforward and was all about the basics. The first round was focused on Java, OOPs, and design. Questions were about core Java stuff, object-oriented design, and if you can think with classes, objects, and how they relate. They really cared about how well you could design a solution using OOP concepts, not just writing code. The second round was about DSA / Problem Solving. It was like a LeetCode easy–medium level. The problems tested your logic, if you know basic data structures, and how efficient your solutions are. Overall, I thought it was a medium difficulty interview – totally doable if you’re good with Java basics, OOP design, and regular coding problems.

The HR screening call started with them saying the hiring manager had already seen my CV and wanted to talk to me. I went through my background, and they asked some very specific questions about how many YEARS of experience I had with AWS. No interest (or understanding) of my actual experience. When they found out it was less than "five years", they disqualified me. I could have done the job in my sleep, "weeded out" by an HR drone that didn't really even understand what AWS was (but she could sure count to five!)

So, there were three rounds in total. The first one had two interviewers from Bangalore. The second round also had two interviewers, but one was from the US. The final round was with the Director. I actually liked the questions and how they went about it in all three rounds. However, after finishing everything, the HR was super hesitant to give me any updates or even feedback, despite me asking multiple times. I kept getting the same reply: 'The panel is still meeting a few candidates and will update you next week.' Even now, I haven't heard back. It's really frustrating and honestly makes me question the company's values. My advice to HR would be to at least give feedback or updates to candidates, especially when they take time off work for multiple interview rounds. Be responsible, not so flaky.
