Account Executive
After being referred by a friend, I went through 3 interviews with this company for a Regional Account Executive role. Each time, the process was identical: disorganized, unprofessional, and frankly embarrassing. I started this last round in late November 2019, and it's now March 2020 with no answer. I'd much rather get a "no" than be left hanging. It's been a huge waste of time. Every interview had strange issues like changing territories, manager changes, and role changes. In the past, the territory switched from East Coast to West Coast, a huge difference! This has happened again in this current process. It's clear the company is struggling with integration after many mergers and acquisitions, not even sure about their own positions and territories. They seem to have a serious lack of integration planning, despite acquiring companies to gain market share. I remember them doing about 12-15 mergers/acquisitions in one year. The overall disorganization and disconnect has been awful. I usually don't leave reviews, but the way I've been treated compelled me to share. It's the right thing to do. I wouldn't work for a company that treats people this way; it's been completely unprofessional EACH time. I hope others read this and realize that while it might not happen to everyone, it indicates a potential organization-wide issue. Remember, an interview is a two-way street. If you see weaknesses and unprofessionalism, it's a red flag. I do not recommend this company!
- Can you share an instance from your past role where you faced adversity and how you handled it?
Account Executive
So first you gotta do like, this test, an IQ and personality thing. If you nail that, then you hop on a call, followed by meeting a recruiter in person where you take the test again (no copying!). If you pass that hurdle, you're looking at another phone interview, this time with the Director of the department. Finally, for sales roles, you'll prep and give a 15-minute PowerPoint presentation to pitch something, and they'll ask you some basic stuff afterward. They might even challenge you on a point to see how you react to pushback.
- What is your primary motivation?
- What motivates you?
- What makes you tick?
Account Executive
After submitting an online application, I was contacted via email and asked to complete some assessments. Next, I received another email requesting my availability for a phone screen. I had a 30-minute interview, and then I was asked to prepare a sales presentation. They didn't give much direction, so I made it my own. I came in for the presentation and interviewed with two Sales Managers, followed by an interview with the CFO, and finally with the HR Manager. The next day, I got a call offering me a different role.
- What would a scouting report say about you if you were a professional athlete?
