Operations Associate
Phone Call: someone contacted me to review my resume, my interest, my qualifications, what I'm looking for, etc. It was a match so we scheduled an initial interview. It was a preliminary check on my interest and availability.

- What is prompting your job search from your current role?
Executive Assistant
A friend referred me to the company. I sent my resume, and a recruiter called the same day to talk about my skills, what kind of jobs I was looking for, my salary expectations, and when I was available for interviews. Once we decided on a position, the recruiter sent my resume over and set up an interview. He gave me the details and even offered to help me prepare, like doing a mock interview. He met me at the client's location to walk me in and we checked in after the interview. When an offer came through, he helped me with any questions and negotiated with the client. I took the job and worked there on a long-term contract for years. My recruiter was great and kept in touch. When that contract ended, I kept working with Reliance One and got other jobs through them, which were also good experiences. The recruiter still works there and has always been really helpful.
- Can you tell me about your professional strengths?
Technical Recruiter
I got contacted on LinkedIn and after some emailing, we scheduled a phone interview. It was pretty standard with the usual questions, but I was caught off guard when asked about other job opportunities I had going on. I was honest and said I did. Later that day, I was invited to continue the process with an in-person interview and was asked whether the Bingham Farms or Auburn Hills office was closer. I picked Auburn Hills, which seemed to slightly annoy the recruiter, but we scheduled it there anyway. The in-person interview started in a conference room with the recruiter I'd been in contact with. She fired off questions about me, many repeating the same ones from the phone call, and again asked about my other interviews. She was super upbeat, but it felt a bit forced. After about 10 minutes, she took me to her boss's office. He asked the exact same questions she did, which made me wonder why he wasn't in the conference room with us. He also pressed about my other interviews, asking which companies and positions. I answered honestly, but found it off-putting and unprofessional. He then led me to the other side of the office to 'shadow' another technical recruiter, which felt odd for a first interview. This recruiter also asked me all the same questions, including about other interviews and why I preferred the Auburn Hills office. Finally, my original recruiter came back and walked me out. It was a really strange experience overall.
- Which other job interviews do you have scheduled?
- What is the timing of your other job interviews?
Human Resources
The interview took place in the back conference room. The receptionist was friendly as we walked back. I had prepared 4-5 resumes. I had one-on-one interviews with the Talent Acquisition, HR, and VP of Recruitment and Operations. It was organized but felt comfortable. Everyone I met was outgoing, personable, and really seemed to connect with my personality. They all expressed belief in the company's future and growth.
- What do you hope to gain from this internship?
