Leadership Development Program
The interview process begins with a phone call and then some online tests. These tests aren't super difficult, but you should still take them seriously. After that, there's a really intense 9-hour in-person interview day. The company makes sure you're comfortable and fed the whole day. You'll have back-to-back interviews with executives, which gives you a good feel for the company culture and how dedicated they are to the program. It's definitely exhausting, though, with 1.5-hour interviews nonstop. Even lunch with an executive or LDP participant is basically an informal interview, so be ready to be wiped out that night. The whole interview process is really intense, but it lets both you and the company get to know each other well to make a good decision. Come prepared because the competition is tough. Make sure to have great questions to ask at the end.
- Be ready for various behavioral situations.
Leadership Development Program
Started with a behavioral phone call with HR. Then there was an aptitude and logic test. After that, an in-person interview with HR reps. The final stage was a full day of on-site interviews with 6 high-level managers/directors from different areas. The HR part was straightforward, but the manager/director interviews were very different. Some stuck to a script, while others just had a conversation. Some managers seemed bored, and a couple tried to intimidate me. Overall, it was fair and what I’d expect for this type of job.
- If you had to remove one province from Canada, which one would it be?
Leadership Development Program
First up was an HR screening with some general behavioral questions. The next stage was also a phone interview, this time with two current program participants. They presented several scenarios and asked how I would tackle them. It was about an hour long, focusing on behavioral aspects and including a few brainteaser questions. The overall process felt relaxed, though the questions could be quite challenging.
- Tell me about a time you demonstrated leadership.
