First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Reliance First Capital.
Mortgage Loan Officer
The interview process is over the phone since it's a remote position. The first interview is with someone who sets up the second interview. I thought I was ready, I had a lot of sales experience, but it wasn't enough.
- Do you have any questions for me? Make sure to ask good ones and be ready.
Mortgage Loan Officer
I got there at 9 and had to do a quick math test and fill out an application. The interview itself was pretty disorganized. They called me back in with Steve and Joe, asked me some questions, and then they went outside and had me shadow someone. She was great and loved her job, she was the highlight. Then I went back in and they asked me basically the same questions again. He wanted me to call him and read off a script, and then he just hung up. It was weird, I was there for a long time. I was told training would start the next Monday, the 17th, but then it was all booked and the next class was 2 months away. It was super unorganized from HR to management, and it was disrespectful to set that expectation over the phone, make me drive 2 hours round trip, and then waste another 3 hours interviewing. It's family-oriented, but you can tell management thinks they're superior. I have sales experience and I'm coachable. I guess they want you to yell and say you're the best and hire me. It's a really odd process and job.
- How do you stand out from other candidates?
Mortgage Loan Officer
It was an easy interview process. I had a phone interview first, then I spoke with the branch manager. After that, they brought me in for an in-person interview. The whole thing took about 3 weeks. This company seems to really value their MLOs and their staff. The branch manager seems really committed to helping the MLOs succeed. It looked like a fun, family-like environment. I also got to shadow someone on the floor.
- Can you share something personal about yourself that I might not already know?
