Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Reliance Digital.
Manager
HR gave me a call for a telephonic interview and then wanted me to come in for a face-to-face interview on very short notice. They mentioned that salary was not an issue for the right candidate. I went for the interview and spoke with an HR person, after which I met the head of the division. Then the real 'fun' began. The HR person started discussing CTC and asked for my desired salary. I told them my expectations, and they started bargaining like it was a street market. It was ridiculous to have an entry-level person argue with someone with 8 years of experience in such a cheap tone. I resisted the urge to react physically and left the discussion open-ended. After 15 days, they called with an offer that was lower than expected, but I agreed, thinking about the company's potential with Jio's launch. However, 5 days later, they sent a CTC breakup that was highly inflated and unreasonable for anyone to accept.
- Any questions about the retail market?
- What are your salary expectations?
- What is your current CTC?
Assistant Manager
First, there's the RPAT, an aptitude test with 50 questions to be done in 12 minutes. If you pass RPAT, you'll have an interview with your reporting manager. If you clear that, you'll be interviewed by the Head of Dept., who is usually a VP. After clearing all these, HR will negotiate salary. They're smart and usually offer a max 10% hike, but maybe 20% if they're in urgent need and you did exceptionally well. My advice: check the numbers carefully because the CTC offered is quite different from what you'll actually get. Once everything's cleared, expect at least a month for Reliance to send the offer letter. You'll likely be chasing HR daily for updates, and they'll just say you're selected and the offer is coming soon.
- Basic aptitude questions about time, work, water, and trains, which are easy.
- Managerial round questions about basic SCM knowledge, lead time, safety stock, ROL point calculation, price calculation, margin calculation, and OTB planning, if applying for Category (Buying and Merchandising and Inventory Control).
- HOD usually asks about your experience and a few technical questions.
Deputy Manager
The process was well planned, with the appointment fixed and a gate pass provided beforehand. The interviewee was available at the scheduled time. They asked some decent logical reasoning questions and conducted a basic online entrance exam with immediate results. They also asked for required documents, but the basic questionnaire was too long and exhaustive.
- Could you describe your overall relevant job experience?
