First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Reiss.
Sales Associate
It was easy and straight forward. You just need to be sociable and know basic retail math. First, there was a phone call, then a Zoom meeting, and finally an in-person interview with higher management. Just dress well and you'll be fine!
- What makes you want to work for this company?
- Why do you think you're a good fit for this role?
- Can you tell me about your experience in sales?
Sales Associate
I knew someone at the company who told me about the opening because I was looking for a job. I hadn't worked retail before, but she said it was okay. I met the Assistant General Manager at the Columbus Ave store. We got along well, and I was called back the next day to meet the General Manager. He interviewed me and offered me the job right away. The process is different now though. You interview with the GM of the store you're applying to, and then if you're in the NYC area, you go to the corporate office on Bleecker St in the West Village to meet the Regional Manager (and VP if you're applying for a higher role).
- If you were a fruit, what would you be and why?
Sales Associate
I had a phone interview which was supposed to be a FaceTime call but the manager had technical issues. It was brief. I felt like I was doing well until the manager brought up pay. The job description mentioned competitive wages but they were only offering $17/hr plus about 1% commission. When I mentioned I was expecting more, noting that places like Target pay $18+/hr, the manager responded with 'um, we don't really pay that. I can ask, but it isn't likely'. They never followed up with me, and I received a better offer shortly after.
- What feedback would your previous managers give regarding your performance?
