First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Regus.
General Manager
Had an initial chat over the phone with the Area Director, it was pretty informal and only about 10 minutes. Next, I interviewed with the Area Manager. They let me know beforehand I'd be asked about Regus and its competitors, so I did some homework. During the interview, they asked about Regus's unique selling points and what made it stand out from local competitors. We also went over my CV and they asked typical interview questions like naming my top 3 weaknesses. There was also a role-playing part where I had to pretend to sort out a customer service issue and identify a sales chance.
- Can you name your three biggest weaknesses?
General Manager
Started with a quick phone chat. Then I met with a GM face-to-face. After that, I had a second interview with another GM. I was supposed to meet with the Regional Manager in person, but that never happened, and instead, I had a phone interview with them. Throughout, I got really good feedback about my skills and how I answered things. They told me to reach out to the GMs if I had questions, and to 'stay in touch'. But when I did, I never heard back. No follow-up at all, even though they said they'd let me know either way. I tried contacting both the GM and RM, and still no response. For a company that seems so professional and upstanding, it's really disappointing to have no follow-up on what seems like an important role. It feels misleading to give candidates false hope about an offer and even worse not to follow up.
- Can you share an instance where you demonstrated [specific skill/behavior]?
- Describe a situation where you had to handle [specific challenge]?
- Tell me about a time you faced a difficult decision.
General Manager
A recruiter reached out, and I had a brief initial call. Then, I was given some online personality/skills tests to complete. After that, about a week later, I had two interviews with Area/Region Managers, which required a 90-minute drive. These were pretty standard interviews, and I was told to expect a call back. About another week passed, and I had a 90-minute teleconference interview with a Vice President. They said I'd hear back in a few days, but it took about 2 weeks for the recruiter to tell me I wasn't selected. Interestingly, about 2 months later, I was called in again for another interview (another 90-minute drive). I was given the same interview I'd already had three times before by a different person. It's now almost 4 weeks later, and I haven't heard anything back about this position.
- Can you describe a time you resolved a difficult customer service issue?
- How would you describe your approach to management?
