Regeneron Research Associate Interview Questions
& Process

I applied for two R&D Associate roles and got interviews for both. Two recruiters reached out, and during the initial calls, they mentioned they knew I was interviewing for both positions since they're in the same department. I successfully passed the recruiter screens, hiring manager interviews, and final all-day interviews for both roles. These final rounds involved meeting with team members, the hiring manager, and recruiters again. Shortly after the final interviews for one position, the recruiter requested six references. Five references were to respond via Skill Survey, and one would be contacted directly by a hiring manager. It's been almost four weeks since I provided my references, and I've confirmed they were contacted. Despite following up multiple times, I haven't received any updates. This lack of communication has been really disappointing.

I applied in April and got contacted by Regeneron in June. First, there was a 10-min phone screen with HR where they asked basic questions about me and confirmed my resume info. Then, a 30-min online interview with the hiring manager to go over my resume in detail and ask some technical questions. After that, they invited me for an in-person interview, covering hotel and transport costs. This was a long day, from 9:00 to 2:30, with 9 sets of people (associates to managers) asking questions about my resume, some technical, some behavioral. Questions repeated a lot. The hiring manager asked challenging technical questions, but others were manageable. The main challenge was the duration; it was basically non-stop, even during lunch which was provided but I was still interviewed. However, everyone was friendly, and I got to ask many questions, giving me a good sense of the role. HR said they'd contact me about a decision after interviewing more candidates. They called two weeks later saying I was a good fit, but another candidate had more experience.

I applied online and heard back 2-3 weeks later for a phone interview. After that, I waited 1.5 weeks for a call to schedule a face-to-face interview, which was set for 2 weeks later. The whole process was very polite, and the assistant helped with my travel plans and reimbursement. They gave me clear instructions on what to bring. Check-in was easy with just the security guard. The phone interviewer met me after I arrived early and brought me to his office. Then, I met with another company veteran. We broke for lunch and I met some people already in the role. After lunch, I had a 2:1 interview with two RAIIIs, followed by a 1:1 with HR. The final interview was a 4:1 with RA IV and higher employees. The first few interviews were casual chats about my background and interests. The HR interview had 3 simple behavioral questions. The last interview involved many specific and detailed ophthalmology questions. Everyone was friendly and polite, and the office environment seemed bright.
