Customer Success Manager
Extremely short, frustrating and misleading process. A recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn regarding an opportunity to join Reflektive's, Customer Success team. I said I'd love to hear more so we scheduled a time to chat. The conversation started off great and I was very interested. When I asked about headcount and growth, she mentioned that they're actually focusing on growing the implementation and enablement team. That sounded a bit off since I was approached for the CSM position, and she even asked which team I would prefer. But I reaffirmed I was interested in a CSM role--the role she contacted me for. The next day, I received the following canned response via LinkedIn mail: "After much consideration, we've made the decision to not move forward at this time." VERY misleading. If you weren't intending to hire for the CSM role, why did you contact me about it? Pretty bad recruiting practice and just a waste of everyone's time.
- Are you interested in the Customer Success role, or perhaps the Implementation team?
Customer Success Manager
It was a pretty standard and thorough interview process. Started with a recruiter screen, then a 30-minute call with someone from the Customer Success team. After that, there was an email exercise, followed by an on-site meeting with several Customer Success team members. The final step was another on-site meeting that included a presentation. The whole thing felt thorough, organized, and transparent. Scheduling the on-site was a bit tricky, they had to reschedule a couple of times, but since it's a startup, that kind of thing happens. They were upfront about it and gave me as much notice as possible. They tried to move things along quickly, and the recruiter was super responsive with scheduling and answering questions. It was cool meeting different people on the team to get a sense of their personalities, work styles, and roles within Customer Success. Everyone was really humble, which made me feel comfortable throughout.
- Can you discuss your experience with technical aspects?
- Can you discuss your project management experience?
Customer Success Manager
I had a pleasant phone chat with the recruiter, then a written assignment to do. After that, I had a second phone interview with a CSM, and then they invited me for in-person interviews with the team. But a few days after setting up the in-person, they called to cancel because they'd already hired someone. Kinda tacky to schedule an interview and then cancel it, tbh. Left me with a bad vibe about the company.
- Describe a situation where you gave feedback to a colleague, and they didn't take it well.
