I went to REDX's careers page and completed a survey, which took me about 2 hours to really think through. REDX got back to me within a week, and I had a first phone chat. They then gave me a task to build a small RESTful service with authentication. After that, there was another phone interview to go over my assignment and for us to ask each other questions. The final step was an onsite meeting with the team, and then they made me an offer and asked for my salary expectations. They made a counter-offer, which I accepted. The whole time, the people helping me with the interview were super responsive and nice.

I had interviews with two different engineering teams. The first one was super deep into programming language specifics like their efficiency and how they impact program speed. We also covered unix shell scripts and utilities. The second team's interview was way more chill. They had me design SQL tables, explain the Angular.js digest loop and its issues, and talk about general OOP concepts. Lastly, I chatted with the lead engineer from the second team and the CEO for a culture fit interview. It felt really good and was a great experience.

I first talked with Mark Leck, the CEO. He asked me about my personal life, my family, and my interests. Then, he talked about the company's goals and core values, and asked if I felt I had similar values. He also asked about my experience and a few other things. After that, I met with two team leads. They went deeper into the company's core values and asked what I would do in certain situations. They mentioned they would confer and then contact me. The chat with Mark was about half an hour, and the other two were for about an hour.
