Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Redlands Community Hospital.
Registered Nurse
It was a 3-person panel interview where I met with 2 managers and a nurse educator. The environment was mostly relaxed and lasted about 30 minutes. They had a paper with common interview questions and went back and forth asking questions from there, then asked additional questions if they wanted me to clarify or elaborate.
- Could you start by telling me about yourself?
- What previous job experience do you have that relates to this position?
Registered Nurse
It was a panel interview, which felt a bit stressful initially, but all interviewers were fair and asked good questions. They were all friendly and helped me feel comfortable after a little while.
- Why do you think you are the right candidate for this role?
Registered Nurse
I got to my interview early, but the secretary had me wait in the waiting area. When she finally brought me in, three managers were there to interview me. No introductions were made, which made things awkward. They started asking questions right away. I was nervous, and only one manager seemed friendly and made eye contact. I asked for honest feedback on my interview, and one manager responded, "Not if you're going to use that to go somewhere else." That was unexpected. The interview lasted about 20 minutes with questions, and there wasn't much feedback given during the process. The whole experience felt uncomfortable, and the panel was cold.
- For this new grad program, why do you think you'd be a better candidate than someone who's been waiting a year?
- As a new grad, why would you be a better candidate than someone who has been waiting a year for this position?
