The whole Redis interview process took about 2 weeks. Over those 2 weeks, I met with several people from the team who shared their experiences and perspectives on my role. The rest of the interview involved working through problems together. Some questions were tough, but I liked that they focused on my problem-solving approach rather than just the answer. The hiring manager was very personable, clearly explained the position and next steps, and made me feel supported the whole time. Overall, I was very impressed with the Redis interview process.

The interview had 3 stages. First, a phone screen which was easy because I have 5 years of Redis experience. Then, a technical assessment that was challenging but fun. They gave me an Ubuntu machine to install Redis, run benchmarks, and connect to Redis Cloud. Familiarity with Redis is key for this part. Finally, a presentation round where I had to present an architecture of my choice for 10 minutes, followed by a 20-minute Q&A. I passed all interviews and the hiring manager hinted at an offer, but then I was surprisingly rejected without clear reasons. It seems like internal politics were involved, as the hiring manager couldn't explain the rejection. Honestly, it feels like I dodged a bullet.

The interview experience was great, with many people from the company involved. Everyone I met was prepared and didn't waste my time. Things moved pretty fast, and I always knew what was going on and what to expect. It started with a chat with the leaders in solutions architecture, then a quick technical task and interview. No tricky questions, just stuff relevant to the job. After that, I had an in-person interview, then met with leaders from other departments like Sales. The last interview was with HR, and then they made an offer. The offer was exactly what we talked about earlier.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • There was a significant emphasis on cultural fit, leadership qualities, and situational questions based on your past experiences.
  • Technical questions focused on architectural considerations and the analysis of trade-offs.
  • It's recommended to prepare by reviewing the available online documentation.
