Technical Presentation

Redis was quick to get back, and I liked that I spoke with both GTM and R&D folks. The interview process wasn't too long, just a hiring manager screen and then some panel interviews. I got an offer, but then things really slowed down and didn't meet my expectations regarding details about strike price and comparisons to my current and projected total compensation, even after I asked.

Behavioral Technical

I had an HR phone screen, then an interview with the hiring manager, followed by a virtual on-site. The offer was presented in person, over a call, which was unusual for me but also a great chance to ask the HM a lot of questions about the offer. Redis Labs seems like a great company full of smart, thoughtful individuals and I found the company culture to be refreshingly candid, yet respectful. Ultimately I declined the offer because we could not come to an agreement on total compensation, driven mostly by differences of opinion over what equity portion of the offer is actually worth.

Behavioral Case

Had 2 interviews that focused more on business goals than technical aspects. The interviews themselves were fine, but the company's follow-up showed little interest in the candidate. HR was late 3 times, didn't communicate my interest well, and forgot to get back to me twice.
