General Manager
So I had this interview for General Manager. First there was like a recruiter call, then a phone screen. Then I had an onsite interview. They asked me about multitasking and dealing with adversity. Also asked about my work experience, specifically if I'd worked in restaurants before. And if I had management experience. Apparently, the experience is really hard to work with.
- Can you share an instance where you persuaded someone, a guest or colleague, who held a different opinion from yours?
- Tell me about a time you juggled multiple tasks and handled a difficult situation.
- Do you have previous experience working in a restaurant setting?
General Manager
The interview process was pretty standard and didn't take too long. It included a tour, a discussion about the company's focus, culture, and brand vision, and details about the General Manager role.
- Can you describe your management style and how you would rate it?
General Manager
It's a pretty thorough process, 4 layers deep with different management levels. They really dig into how you've handled situations with "tell me about a time when..." questions and fact-finding. You start with a phone chat, then meet a senior manager, then shadow another General Manager during a shift, and wrap up with the regional manager.
- Describe a situation where your supervisor acted against company policy and explain your course of action.
