Senior Recruiter
Nice process with friendly people. Had a good first chat with Talent Acquisition and got quick feedback to come in for an office interview. Met with the HR Talent expert, then a Senior Manager, and a team lead, and finally the HR Director.
- In your opinion, what is the optimal approach to launching in a new market?

Applied through LinkedIn and got a call within minutes about my background and motivation. The talent acquisition manager asked if I was motivated by money, and my answer about student debt seemed fine. Next was an assessment day with about 10 candidates and 2 managers. It was fun, not daunting like I expected, with bonding time and creative activities. I got feedback three days later and was invited to the second stage. This stage was more serious. First, I met the talent acquisition manager again before being interviewed by multiple people back-to-back. I had to repeat myself when asked to introduce myself and explain why I'm interested in recruitment, and again, a money-based answer seemed acceptable, as they seem to want 'hungry' young people. The interviewers were friendly team leaders/managers. I spoke with my prospective manager who answered my questions honestly. Some interviews were casual chats about my interests and past jobs, which helped me feel they were interested in my personality. I noticed people in the office seemed happy. A new hire in the lift said they loved working there. I got feedback a couple of days later and received a job offer. However, I had another offer closer to home, so I declined. The talent acquisition manager asked if I'd speak with their HR Director. He called later and discussed my concerns for about half an hour. He invited me for an informal chat to reconsider, which I accepted. The HR Director met me in a nice conference room, offered drinks, and first talked about my studies, dissertation, and hobbies. Then he presented career growth opportunities at RED and shared the interview panel's feedback, including a surprisingly accurate psychological evaluation. He outlined potential team placements and career progression. I then met my potential direct manager, who seemed passionate about mentoring. I said I'd reconsider and got back to them in a few days. Ultimately, I chose another company due to proximity (a 30-minute cycle vs. an hour on the tube for RED). I still think RED is a great company with an excellent recruitment approach that values quality candidates. I highly recommend applying, and even if you don't get the offer, the experience is valuable.
- What motivates you to work in recruitment?
- Could you describe your worst personal quality?
- What strategies would you employ to find a suitable candidate if our existing resources like LinkedIn and our database were insufficient?
Recruitment Consultant
The interview process involved a series of three 30-minute video calls back-to-back. The first interviewer (female) was professional, but it went downhill from there. The director was unprofessional, with the call being interrupted multiple times. The team lead on the third call was slow and seemed unsure of what they were talking about for most of the conversation. It was awkward when the female interviewer and the director had an internal discussion while I was still on the call during a handover. Overall, I felt I had a good 30 minutes out of the total 90 minutes.
- Could you introduce yourself and outline your career goals?
- Can you tell me about yourself and your aspirations?
