First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Recorded Future.
Sales Engineer
It was a 4-interview process. First, I met with the Manager, then the SManager, then an AE, then a Panel, and finally the TA Team. They are really looking for top talent, so make sure to bring your best effort because a regular, low-effort application and interview prep won't cut it.
- What value can you bring to the business?
- Describe how you would approach selling to a Fortune 500 company in your role as an SE.
Sales Engineer
The interview process kicked off really well. The HR coordinator was fantastic, super engaging and communicated excellently. I went through the initial screening, then peer, manager, and even the boss's boss interviews, all of which I passed to get to the final demo part. I felt the whole process and the demo itself went smoothly. However, there wasn't quite enough time allocated for the demo, and the SE Director/VP seemed to put the blame on me, even though they set the agenda and the time limit. They just complained the whole time. After that, the company went completely silent. It seems one person can really sway decisions, even overriding a direct manager and peers (despite them giving the green light earlier). Turns out, it was a blessing in disguise because after all the time I put into this lengthy interview process, the final communication wasn't even a phone call or a personal email. I got a generic 'no thanks' email with zero feedback or interaction, which is disappointing given the time commitment from both sides. Makes me wonder how they treat their actual employees after seeing how they treat candidates.

Sales Engineer
Started with a phone screen with a senior recruiter who was super communicative and helpful throughout. Then, I had a video call with the hiring manager, followed by their boss, the VP of Presales, and then a seasoned Sales Engineer. All these were one-on-one video chats, very relaxed and conversational. It was a good opportunity to get a feel for the company, the role, and do a deep dive into the product technically. After that, I got access to Recorded Future and had to put together a presales demo to present to all four of them together. I felt well-equipped with the resources, and honestly, I really enjoyed working with such a powerful product.
- In what ways do you stay updated with industry advancements and learn new technologies?
- Can you describe a time you had to handle a difficult client situation?
