First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Reckitt.
Financial Analyst
The interview process began with a 20-minute call from HR, where I was asked generic questions with a monotonous delivery. I felt I failed on interpersonal skills during this stage. Next, I met with the Controller who had recently joined the organization. Although it was a good conversation, I sensed she wasn't confident in me when I discussed my scope and achievements. Following this, I had a final interview with another controller. I was surprised but gave it my best shot. The scope was challenging, and while I admit there were areas where I might not have extensive experience due to lack of opportunity, I questioned the expectation of 100% experience when fresh graduates need chances to learn and grow. The company stated replies would take two weeks, but I suspect they made their decision during the interview. The HR department only responded exactly two weeks later, after I had to send an email twice, and their reply was generic, like an automated response. Overall, I was very disappointed. They lack interpersonal skills, which is crucial for talent acquisition roles that represent the company.
- Can you describe your scope of work and how you would contribute to this position?
Financial Analyst
It was three rounds, first 30 min, then 1h30, and the last one 1h. The first was with the UK HR, mostly about why I want the job. The second was with the financial director, asking about my competencies and motivations. The third was with the HR partner and the Head of the financial department, more in-depth about my financial experience, competencies, and motivations.
- Given your limited finance background, how do you plan to contribute value to the finance department?
- What specifically draws you to a finance role at RB?
- Can you share an example of when you exhibited leadership qualities?
Financial Analyst
The interview was on Penn State Campus and had 2 one-on-one interviews. One was with HR, and the other was with someone from the finance field. The HR interview went well, mostly behavioral questions and some chat about personal life. The finance field interview was tough, the interviewer was serious and it lowered my confidence. I don't expect to hear back after the campus interviews.
- What was your reason for selecting Penn State for your graduate studies?
