You start with a phone interview with a product director. Then, you have four more rounds: one with a product director, one with a product manager, one with the UX team, and one with an SDM. Finally, you interview with the CTO. The early stages were good, but the last round felt disrespectful due to the interviewer's opinionated and superior attitude. He dominated the conversation, focusing on himself and his methods for over 60% of the time. He made dismissive comments about customer focus within the organization, which was odd given his own job-hopping history. The recruitment team and other long-term employees were great and friendly, though. I'd suggest waiting until 2020 to apply.

I talked to HR on the phone and then met with a Product Manager in person at their office. The PM didn't seem to care about my MBA or my years of experience in cosmetic surgery. He also didn't know much about the people using the company's platform and thought that was unimportant. It felt like the company is lost and doesn't really get the industry they're in. They seem too focused on just making software and not enough on the people and the real-world impact. I saw all these great reviews about working at RealSelf, but this interview showed me they have a lot to figure out about their mindset if they want to succeed. Maybe it's a good place for people with very rigid job roles.

I found this role on LinkedIn. Since I'm in Amsterdam and the job is in Seattle, my interview process might be different. First, I had a call with HR. Then, two Product Managers hopped on calls with me. After that, I had a Google Hangout with the Director of Product. The final round involved flying to Seattle to meet a bunch of people, including the CEO. I got a rejection a few days later, but no details on why. They seem to have a great tech culture and I bet they do more A/B testing than similar companies.
