Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RBC Investor Services.
Fund Accountant
The interview process was straightforward and the hiring managers were interested in learning about your professional history. Familiarize yourself with the industry, and you should do well. It's important to ask thoughtful questions during the interview and always inquire about their team or the role.
- Could you start by telling me about yourself and your relevant job experience?
- Could you walk me through your current job background?
Fund Accountant
The interview questions were good and relevant to the role. The interviewer was very professional. It was a hybrid interview and they were flexible. I felt I did well. The whole process took about an hour. I received feedback about 2 weeks after the interview, and the onboarding process is going smoothly.
- Could you describe your understanding of Funds?
Fund Accountant
Applied through LinkedIn and got contacted by HR 3 days later. They requested a last-minute interview session for Saturday, having contacted me on Friday evening. I asked to reschedule, but the HR person was quite rude. Nevertheless, I attended the interview. They didn't mention the working hours would be 3 PM to 12 AM Malaysia time. They offered many allowances. The interview with the Director of the FA department went well, and I was confirmed for the position. After a week, I contacted HR for feedback, and they said they'd provide the results next week. After 3 weeks of no update, despite contacting and emailing them, they ignored me. The HR team showed VERY RUDE AND POOR MANAGEMENT; at least they could have updated candidates on their interview status.
- Can you explain what fund accounting is?
- Could you explain what NAV is and its relation to fund accounting?
