Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RBC Dominion Securities.
Administrative Assistant
I got in touch with someone and they set up an interview for me, I didn't have to apply through the usual channels. The interview invite came through email. I had one online interview that lasted about 45 minutes. It was mostly behavioral questions, and they asked about my skills with Excel.
- What do you consider your greatest weakness when working with a team?
- Can you give me an overview of your resume?
- What are your motivations for seeking this role?
Administrative Assistant
It was a really nice and quick chat. The person interviewing me was super friendly and seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say. All in all, it was a positive experience and not nerve-wracking at all. They didn't ask any job-specific or banking questions, which I guess makes sense since I'm an intern.
- Can you tell me what you enjoy most about your current program of study?
- How would you handle a situation where you might not be able to meet a deadline?
- What would you consider to be your greatest strength?
Administrative Assistant
The hiring process was quite long and there was not much communication. I had to reach out several times. It was a very slow process and they asked similar questions in multiple rounds. The atmosphere was really good though, and the interviewers were not intimidating at all.
- What is your coworkers' perception of you?
