First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at razorfish.
Photo Art Director
The whole interview process was really professional and direct. They gave me a good overview and explained the application steps clearly. The questions they asked were thoughtful and specific to the industry. It was clear they had done their research on me beforehand.
- Can you tell me about a project you worked on and how it helped elevate the brand?
Account Manager
The screener went well, but then I was ghosted on all follow-up attempts. I was told the next step was meeting with the head of accounts, though they also mentioned having more senior people already further along, which made scheduling that meeting a bit unclear why.
- Can you tell me why you are interested in working at Razorfish?
- What is your experience with managing direct reports?
- Could you specify your years of experience in this field?
VP Strategy
I applied directly through their website and heard back within a day. A recruiter did an initial screen, then I had one-on-one meetings with four other executive leaders. I also spoke with my direct manager a couple of times. Mostly standard questions about my past experience and career goals. We also discussed my strategic thinking and how I develop strategy. They were really upfront about the challenges and what the job entails. It felt like an honest and genuine process. The recruiter was great at keeping me updated on what was next and following up.
- Can you provide examples of strategic initiatives you've led previously?
Senior Designer
I went through a month-long interview process with four total interviews. First, I had a recruiter call, and then I had three interviews with different creative directors. It felt like a lot of directors, honestly. Those three interviews with the creative directors were super long and had a lot of the same questions. In all of them, I showed extra work and they gave me good feedback and compliments. What was really weird is that a few days later the recruiter told me that even though the team really liked me, they didn't think my background was the right fit. I asked for more details since the directors seemed to like my background and work, but they never responded. Getting a short rejection with no explanation makes me think this place is disrespectful and toxic.
- Regarding working with a single brand long-term in an agency versus multiple brands, how do you feel about that?
- Do you lean more towards designing visual identity or marketing materials for our brand?
- Could you present a digital project that you're proud of?
