Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Raytheon.
Finance Intern
I only had one interview which was mainly behavior questions. I talked to two different people at the company and was offered the role a week later. Accepted and had a great experience!
- Why Raytheon?
- What background knowledge on finance?
Finance Intern
This was the worst interview experience ever. The recruiters were rude and unprepared. They didn't even know I was applying for an internship, despite me being a Masters student. They seemed annoyed that I do well in school and get good grades, possibly because they were incapable themselves in college. They even told me I should become a teacher instead of working there, trying to convince me I wasn't a fit. It seemed like they only hire white males with blonde hair in the Tucson finance department. Because they were so unprepared, they threw a bunch of unrelated questions at me and expected me to remember them all. It was obvious they weren't going to hire me because I didn't fit their criteria. The interviewer in the t-shirt was rambling and making up questions that didn't make sense. Very unprofessional!
- Can you explain pivot tables and VBA?
- Tell me about time management.
- What do you know about the secret menu at Chick-fil-A?
Finance Intern
The interview process involved a recruiter call, followed by a phone screen and a technical screen. It was mostly behavioral questions, like asking about my background, my interest in Raytheon and defense tech, examples of past situations, my future career goals, and my proudest accomplishments.
- Could you explain your motivation for pursuing a role at Raytheon within the defense technology sector?
- Can you share an instance where you faced a particular challenge or situation?
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
