Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Raymond James Financial.
Portfolio Manager
The interview process started with a basic first round. The second round focused more on money management. The third round was behavioral, where you needed to be prepared to show your investment skills in a simple way so they can see if you know money management well enough to explain it to a client in terms they understand.
- How would you narrow the scope on an investment opportunity?
Credit Analyst
I applied online and got a call for a pre-screen phone chat. Then I talked to HR about general questions and salary. After that, I had an all-day thing with team leaders, including testing, lunch, and interviews. It was in the bank and I met some smart, confident senior managers. RJF is a good place to start, but there's a big difference between experienced and junior staff. Lots of opportunities and better pay for experienced hires.
- Can you discuss your relevant previous experience?
- Could you explain the part Real Estate played in the 2009 financial crisis?
Investment Analyst
The interview process starts with basic investment banking questions, drawing from a 400-question guide. The later stages, including the final rounds and super day, will focus more on behavioral and industry-specific questions. Success in this process is heavily influenced by networking and a strong grasp of core concepts.
