Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rational 360.
Senior Associate
It was a pretty standard first-round interview, with the usual questions. Nothing unexpected, and it felt like a friendly chat. They asked about my experience, what I'm good at, and how I communicate. It was a free-flowing conversation, and the interviewer was helpful in giving details about the role.
- Can you walk me through your background?
- What are your key skills?
- Describe your communication abilities.
Associate
I applied online and got called in for an in-person interview. What they didn't tell me was that the interview would last over 90 minutes and that I would be meeting with multiple people. So I was thrown off guard completely. The interview, thankfully, went fine and I was told I would hear back soon. I was then contacted to complete a writing test, afterwhich I was asked to come back in for another interview. It was the same format where I met with 3 people and prepared accordingly. I thought it went great when they asked me to come in yet again for a "final round" with 2 additional people. Again, the interview went well and they said they would contact my references and get back to me. Then I hear that Melissa contacted my reference (my mentor) and left an incredibly rude message on his phone as if it was his fault that he couldn't pick up the phone then. My mentor proceeded to call and email her to set up a time to chat. He never heard back. They didn't even contact my other references and I never heard from them. I emailed them to follow up especially since I had to interview with 8 different people. They didn't even have the audacity to respond to let me know I didn't get it. This place isn't worth your time and their office feels like a place people go to become professionally and emotionally drained. There also wasn't a lick of diversity.
- Can you explain how your current job responsibilities align with the responsibilities of this role?
Digital Associate
Started with a 15-minute late phone screening. Then a writing test with website and Facebook copy. The final round was two back-to-back interviews with a senior manager and a partner. One interviewer was 15 minutes late for the final round, and then I was asked to reschedule. After the interview, I was asked for references and told they'd move fast. I haven't heard back or gotten a response to follow-ups. Two interviewers were late, and I was ghosted after providing references. Very negative and unprofessional.
- What steps would you take to improve a campaign that's underperforming?
