First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rappi.
Software Engineer
I had an interview with the VP. It was a relaxed conversation where we talked about my experience and problems I'd faced, and how I approached resolving them. They also asked some questions about system designs. I had time to ask all the questions I wanted.
- Tell me about a time you had to resolve an escalation problem.
Software Engineer
The process was awful. The HR recruiter never gave me any feedback. The technical interview involved a Colombian interviewer who only asked theory questions about microservices, patterns, etc. I was rejected because I didn't know some questions. They didn't seem to care about my experience or my algorithm level, which might have been the feedback, but HR didn't tell me how to improve for the future. Also, the interviewer wasn't more experienced than me in software development, based on my LinkedIn research. I don't recommend going through their process.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- Describe patterns and microservices.
- Describe system design.
Software Engineer
I applied online and then got a questionnaire about my experience and salary expectations from the agency Rappi uses. After about ten days, I had an online assessment that was a technical evaluation and took an hour and a half. Two weeks after that, they asked me to schedule the final interview, which I did a week later. Then there was a month of silence before I heard that the position was no longer open.
- Can you describe your experience from previous roles?
- Could you discuss your experience with Java Backend Frameworks, specifically Spring?
- How would you approach a hypothetical system design problem?
