Backend Developer
The interview is split into 2 parts. The first part is about your work history and professional career. The second part is your technical knowledge for the position.
- Where do you see yourself in 5 years at Rappi?
- Why should we hire you?
- Technical questions about Spring, Spring Boot, Java, and Kotlin.
Backend Developer
The company's bad rating and the poor quality of their application are reflected in their interview process. It was all bad, starting with the initial HR call where they only asked what languages you know instead of understanding your real experience and/or professional projects. Even worse, they use very poor technical tests in terms of content (just a couple of multiple-choice questions), they use HackerRank which doesn't work. For example, the platform is configured to use a different language than the one you mentioned as part of your experience and with which you explicitly requested to be evaluated. As a note, this language cannot be changed on the platform, so you either cheat by researching this unknown language or you just don't do it. Parts of the HackerRank test are also missing. Totally understandable all the bad ratings they have.
- What languages do you know how to use?
- What languages do you know?
Senior Backend Developer
I was contacted on Linkedin by a few recruiters from a disorganized agency in Mexico. They were using a single personal account and didn't realize they had already reached out to me. Then there was a HackerRank test, but the test cases had an obvious error where the input array was missing a value, so none of the tests passed. I sent screenshots showing the problem, but the recruiters didn't understand the HackerRank platform, leading to a negative outcome and wasted time.
- What's the minimum number of water fountains needed to cover all land spots, based on an array of fountain coverages? For each test case, the input states it has N values, but the logged input always has N - 1. Given this, I didn't finish it.
