The interview process at Rapid7, while straightforward for my first time interviewing, felt quite long. It started with a one-hour chat with the section managers, followed by an extended technical interview that had a lot of questions. The interviewers were really professional and nice, trying to make things less stressful, but it was still a demanding process overall. Definitely brush up on Linux commands, SQL databases, cloud tech, networking ports, and general information security concepts.

Behavioral Technical

After submitting my online application, a recruiter reached out to schedule an initial phone call. Following that call, I had a 30-45 minute interview with the Hiring Manager, which included behavioral questions and technical questions like 'describe what happens when you type a website on browser.' After that, I was given a technical assessment covering networking, Linux, Windows, and Mac basics. Finally, they scheduled five 30-minute interviews with two support engineers and three managers, focusing on behavioral and team fit questions. The process was straightforward, and they were responsive about next steps. I declined the offer for a different role. If interviewing with Rapid7, I'd suggest asking about team fit and culture to gauge if you'd be a good match, as they emphasize cultural fit.
