Really bad interview experience. I have a bit of a stammer, so I'd stumble over my words sometimes. The interviewer took this as me not knowing the answers. They told me to do my research for future interviews, saying I was wasting their time and my own. I actually did a lot of research and was prepared, and I know my stuff. I wouldn't recommend this company because they don't seem to treat people with respect based on this interview.

It was a 3 stage process, but I didn't get past stage 2 because it was super competitive. They did say they'd let me know if any more spots opened up though. Both interviews were on Zoom. They seem to tailor questions based on what you've already said and what you know. The first interview was with someone from talent, and it ran over the scheduled time, going for 25 mins instead of 15. It was pretty relaxed, focused on getting to know me and my interest in Rapid7. I got to ask questions at the end. The second interview was with a Software Engineering Manager and was also longer than scheduled, 45 mins instead of 30. They were looking at my technical skills, especially OOP, and how I approach analyzing and improving code. I got to ask a lot of questions since I was the last one. Only bummer was waiting 2 and a half weeks for the rejection, but they were nice about it.

I had a nice chat with two HR people from Northern Ireland. I answered typical HR questions well and we chatted about our lives. I confirmed I needed a visa beforehand and they said it was fine. They then sent a test challenge for me to do offline, which I completed and passed. They congratulated me and said I was moving to the next round. I had two technical and cultural fit interviews scheduled for the same day, one after the other. I had to ask for time off my current job to do them. I answered the questions well and got good feedback. They said I'd hear about the next round, but then there was radio silence. I sent a follow-up email two weeks later, but didn't even get a reply saying they'd gone with someone else, which was disappointing. I then sent a follow up email about the Senior Software Engineer role I interviewed for on June 2nd, stating I enjoyed the meetings and am still interested, and asked if I could provide any further information.
