got a call from the recruiter via linked then a typical chat on salary expectations, experience etc. later interview with some guys from ireland likely and asked infosec related questions and some ps scripts , explain what this script is doing etc... interview went well and they said they will reach out but never did lol.

The interview process for the Managed Detection and Response Analyst role in Dublin, Ireland, began with an initial recruiter phone screen. This was followed by a technical interview with the hiring manager over the phone. If successful, I was invited for an on-site interview at the Dublin office. The on-site involved a technical interview with an MDR analyst, the hiring manager (via video call), and some Associate MDR Analysts, along with a Customer Success Manager. The technical part covered questions about security analyst duties, SIEM, log analysis, and OS internal and forensic artifact analysis. Despite doing well in the phone technical interview, the on-site was less successful as I couldn't answer all the detailed questions about OS artifact analysis, focusing more on conceptual understanding rather than specific locations. Consequently, I was offered an Associate MDR Analyst position, which seemed a bit strange given my experience as a Security Analyst, including time at a malware research company, and the job description only preferring but not requiring cyber security experience. The offer felt ridiculous – was I supposed to take a pay cut and a more junior title? I declined and accepted an incident response role at a major multinational cloud company instead. It's a shame that an interesting company and hiring process for cyber security specialists can be undermined by unprofessional individuals. I now avoid this company's job postings for career development.
